I usually make some oversized receiving blankets. I get 1 1/2 yards of flannel and run a small hem around it. it is simple and the size is so great. Even when the baby gets older, you will have a lightweight blanket for them. Never had one new Mother disappointed. They are always overjoyed!

I have on I'm going to and plan on making a diaper baby for a fun gift, the diapers and the outfit can be used by the baby. I Google it

I make the large receiving blankets too. Every Mom loves them because of the size. Packaged receiving blankets are so small. Besides the receiving blankets I made crib sheets for our granddaughter. All were made from full size sheets sets (two from each fitted sheet) so I could get the fabric and colors our daughter wanted. I used 3/8" elastic all the way around each sheet. Our daughter said they never come untucked and are easy to put ojn.

  @Andrea, you should learn. Sewing for the home is really easy. All the basics are pretty much straight lines.

I like to make baby quilts for shower gift. I try to match baby's room decor, but it really does'nt have too.
