  • Need a bit more information. What tile are you speaking about? Floor, wall, kitchen, bath? Anything can be painted, but depending upon where the tile is at and the type of wear it will have will determine the success of your project.

Hi Ronda! Could you upload a photo of your tile? That will make it easier for other hometalkers and myself to give you better answers and ideas! You can add photos by clicking the upper right drop arrow and select "edit" (see screenshot). Hope this helps! :)

I am wondering the same thing about my 5 inch square shiny ceramic bathroom tiles. The entire bathroom is covered in tile, ceiling and walls. Some are mint green and the rest white. I definitely need a change.

Yes, you can paint wall tile.....get a special primer (ask Lowes) and then when primed, paint with any other paint...we used white semi gloss.

  • Yes! I painted our tile. Here's a link to the post. http://www.apinterestaddict.com/2012/07/26/painting-floor-tile/ I also painted the granite backsplash in the kitchen with the same stuff and it's held up beautifully. Good luck!

Thank you everyone. I am now confident that I can give this a shot. Eliesa, thank you for your suggestions. I'm heading out to my local paint store and Lowe's today.
