A Builders Beige Powder Room Gets a Modern Makeover

We wanted our main floor powder room to better reflect the modern style of our home, so we made a few quick upgrades to take it from builders beige to modern chic.
This bathroom makeover all started when we were doing some work in our adjoining kitchen and had a small amount of grey quartz countertop left over. We swap out the beige bathroom countertop with the extra grey quartz, which then allowed us to add a sleek frosted glass sink that we picked up for only $73!
We also added a mosaic backsplash that is a combination of frosted, grey and black glass with a few stainless steel tiles mixed in.
The new vessel sink called for a taller faucet, so we selected one with a waterfal spout that adds to the modern feel of the spcae.
We replaced the boring beige paint with a shimmer metallic paint in a soft white. It brightens up the windowless bathroom by helping to bounce around the light. We also removed the boring, frameless mirror and replaced with with a tall, thin mirror floating in a dark wood frame.
We replaced the traditional amber glass light fixture with a more modern option.
And I made some DIY art by painting four deep stretched canvasses in colors to match the adjoining kitchen, and added circles cut from newsprint that feature theatre reviews from shows that my husband has performed in. Making personalized art is one of my favorite ways to make our house feel like our home.
It was not a major bathroom renovation, but we were able to really change the look of the space with a relatively small budget. This powder room now fits the style of our home so much more than before.
