How to Install a Window Air Conditioner

Tips and Tricks Offered by a Reputable Local AC Installer
Window-mounted AC systems are a great alternative to central air conditioning units. They are mostly used in rented apartments where installing a central air conditioner is inconvenient or cost-prohibitive. Additionally, many renters can use a window AC unit as a temporary solution, until they decide to install a full-size air conditioner. Installing a window AC is a straightforward task; however, make sure you follow these guidelines. If you feel that the installation process is too complicated for you, then hire a local AC installer for the job.
Factors to consider when installing a window AC unit
Sizing
The most common mistake people make when installing window units is choosing the wrong size. To operate effectively and efficiently, an air conditioner needs to be the right size – not bigger or smaller. Larger AC units may consume more energy, while smaller units may not provide enough cooling.

We have central A/C but here in Hotlanta, the central unit will do just so much...and it is VERY costly. We discovered that when it was time to go to bed upstairs, it was too hot for comfort since the heat seems to lay heavier as darkness falls. Well, we put in 110 volt window units in a couple of the bedrooms. They have timers so you can set them to go off once it cools off! We love them!
