Front Door Idea- Make a Grand Entrance!
Painting the trim around a front door makes it appear even BIGGER and BETTER. We used a decorative painting technique called "faux bois" which means fake wood. What a difference!
The front door is now in scale with the rest of the space, and becomes the feature of this grand entrance.

Before-The front doors were already thoughtfully trimmed with skilled craftsmanship in an effort to define their importance. Most of the time we tend to think that all trim molding within a space should be consistent.
However in this case, we decided to emphasize the scale and proportion of the doors as an independent architectural detail. That gave us permission to view the surrounding trim molding as an extension of the doors. A perfect match!
