Taping It Modern - DIY Wall Art With Painters Tape

Taping it modern mudroom.
A couple of years ago, I wanted to do something really fun with my mudroom. I love turquoise, so I thought I'd go bold and paint bright turquoise stripes. Well the only thing missing in this small space was the fish, because it felt like an aquarium.
I finally decided to drain the aquarium and change the walls. I still wanted something fun, and I saw this cool geometric rug pattern on Pinterest...so I went for it. I also really wanted to add gold metallic pinstripes to tie the cabinet color into the room. I started off with a laser (my best tip for straight lines.)
Taped diagonal lines in sets of 3 in both directions. (Check blog for detailed layout.)
Then I started removing tape sections to get a weaved look.


I added an extra 'L' in the diamond shape.
