Would a Hot Tub Complete the ‘Full Water Experience’ for You, Too?

Some homeowners are undeniably content with having a pool, or the soothing waters of a hot tub, as their only backyard water feature. For others, however, a hot tub is what completes a multi-faceted “full water experience.”
In the case of this special waterside project, we were brought in after Hurricane Sandy destroyed the home’s existing pool, landscaping and decking. As part of the restoration, even though they had their own dock, boat, and large swimming pool, they felt a key ingredient was missing: the therapeutic waters of a hot tub.
Working with experts in the field of deck and patio construction, Long Island Hot Tub’s team created a multi-level deck and pool surround. This beautiful expanse included an upper level deck with room to relax and enjoy the property’s water views, flanked by two different sets of steps. The stairs on the right lead down to a new larger pool level; on the left, they lead down to a new hot tub/lounge area.
For the decking materials, the homeowners chose strong “capped composite” decking because of the natural beauty of the material and its durability. It offers the look of wood, yet is warranted against staining and fading. No nail holes or wood knots to contend with, and certainly no staining or painting. Also, we designed the hot tub to fit up against the hot tub lounge area, providing a “built-in-deck” appearance, while also offering easy access to the spa’s plumbing equipment.
With a beautifully restored backyard, set on a scenic Long Island canal, these homeowners believe they now have it all.
Hot Tub Lounge Area
Beyond the wonderful dock/water access they already had on a charming Long Island canal, and the pool they were restoring, these homeowners wanted a new hot tub/spa to complete their restored backyard oasis.
Hot Tub Lounge Area
Tip - When designing expansive decking and pool surrounds, it is important that the chaise lounge, dining, and outdoor patio areas are all large enough for furniture with room to walk around.
Hot Tub Covers
Long Island Hot Tub feels spa covers are important because when the wind blows and dirt and leaves fall, they throw off the balance of the water quality by affecting water sanitary condition. Tip: when not in use, they can be used a privacy screen.
Hot Tub Placement
In designing/building any hot tub lounge area, Long Island Hot Tub considers what the views from the hot tub would be. In this case, we ensured the view from the spa would be the serene waterside pool level.
