Beach-Inspired Living Room Updated at Minimal Cost!

My living room was the first space you would notice once you walked into my home and it was too neutral. When I purchased my home 12 years ago, it was set up as a piano/sitting room. I knocked out a nearby wall to eliminate the dining room and enlarge my kitchen. I needed this living room to be an adjoining and casual space to relax and read a book or work on my blog.
Milk bottle collection vignette
I started with the Front Entry and added a new coat of black spray paint to the entry's wire table. I created a vignette of white milk bottles purchased for $5.00 in total from a vintage market and filled each bottle with inexpensive paper flowers bought at Hobby Lobby.
Wall Gallery of Beach Prints
I decided to brighten the boring space with a light turquoise shade of paint and adding interest to the walls with beach themed prints. DIY project to come on Chocolate and Sunshine.
Love this small turquoise lamp addition
I created a second vignette from West Elm glass bottles, air plants, a collection of mercury glass votives placed into a vintage wire basket and a small tabletop lamp found in Home Goods.
Let's stair-step some of the photos
I wanted the photo collection to cover two walls and I love the black and white basket purchased from Home Goods.
Adding sparkle to a coffee table vignette
Utilized a large mercury glass ball as an anchor for the pops of beach-inspired turquoise pieces accented with a starfish and a wooden Backgammon game.
Colorful, Happy, Light Beach-Touched Room
Overview of my new room. Love the black and white striped World Market area rug. More details on Chocolate and Sunshine.
