Vacation Memories

My sweet daughter sent this small air plant as a "happy" to me at my work last week. It was just a glass base, the globe and the air plant. I decided it needed some height to it so I could view it better at my desk. I went to our local Goodwill Store and found the dessert dish for 75 cents.
Then I went through the sea shells we'd brought home from our July 4th family vacation. My husband, daughter and granddaughter had fun snorkeling for shells (I held the bucket) while our son-in-law fished from shore. Added those to the inside of the dish, and sealed the glass base to the top rim of the dish with glass bond and let dry.

The large seashell that my air plant is in was dug up by my granddaughter! I soaked it in hot sudsy water and gave it a good scrubbing to get salt water residue off before placing my air plant in it. The globe is removable for me to mist the plant. I now have wonderful memories to view every work day of our fun, multi-generational trip to Pensacola Beach!
