Well...weeds are plants. But this does look like a plant that you would not want. At least that is what the leaves look like.

It looks like some kind of mint, and it would be invasive. It should be pulled up and be sure to get all the roots or it will take over.

It is a weed and you are sure to find many more! If you want help identifying in the future have a pic of it in the ground too so the leaves are seen and easier to identify. good luck with the new home!
