I've got three sad little end tables we use on our patio. I've had them for years but the paint on the metal is chipping and the glass tops are getting grungy. I was thinking of replanting the metal with rust oleum and glass tiles on the top. So the questions are is can I put the glass tiles directly on the existing tops or do I need to remove the glass and put in some marine plywood. Second question can this be done as a rainy day project or does it need to be done when the humidity is less

U could try locktite glass glue from home depot but remember that glass tiles will show what is beneath them so you may need overall coverage of the existing glass to do it without blobs showing through your tile. Marine plywood would be good also but again, paint it the color you want to show through on your glass transparent tiles. On the metal scrap away any loose paint before you repaint. We want pics when your done!! : )

Hi DJ! Could you upload a photo of your tables? That will make it easier for other hometalkers and myself to give you better answers and ideas! You can add photos by clicking the upper right drop arrow and select "edit" (see screenshot). Hope this helps! :)
