Vintage Sewing Box

When I was young my Mother had a sewing box that had been my Grandmother's. I loved going through it and looking at all the colorful threads, the needles and things she kept in there. So a few years back when I ran across one in a thrift shop I just had to buy it. It needed some work done on it as the wood was in rough shape but I could never figure out what I wanted to do until I found a label on the The Graphics Fairy's sight.
I started by painting it with DIY chalk paint then sanding it a bit. Then I added a outlined the top with a black Sharpie paint marker.
I then traced on the J & P Coats label I found on the The Graphics Fairy and then went over it with the black Sharpie paint pen. Then I sanded over again and waxed it.
For more details you can go to the link below to check out the problems I had with it and how I decided to deal with them.
