I am sorry I didn't give enough information. I am planning to make a decorative neck roll pillow. When finished it will be about 14 inches long. I haven't measured, but I have the foan roll. It's late here and I am exhausted. Will try and get back here tomorrw afternoon. Thanks for your help.

It sounds like all you need to do is measure around your foam roll, cut some fabric and sew it together, or maybe I'm not picking up what you're laying down, so to speak.
  • There are 2 ways to make this pillow cover Charlotte; The simple way is to cut the fabric long enough to make a pillow case, one seam the length of the foam, plus the end caps. leave one end open (Just like a pillow case) and hem the open end & run a cord or ribbon through the hem & draw string it shut. The more difficult style is to make a cylinder of the fabric the length of the foam and cut the fabric ends by tracing the circles at the ends of the pillow & attaching them to the cylinder. Mc Calls & Simplicity actually have patterns for this. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I know this was such a lame question to those who have been sewing for so long. I will make the cylinder style and make the circles at the ends. I will put a ruffle between the end circle and the pillow length of the pillow. Thanks.
  • There is no lame question, I think it is wonderful that you are enjoying making something lovely. It is a lost art, no one seems to sew anymore.
