Why do I have yellow leaves on my roses?

I have several roses and some of them have yellow leaves with black spots on them. Doesn't seem to hurt the bush itself but they are unsightly to say the least. I know I should know the answer to this but I am at a loss...help!

I hate to diagnose without seeing a photo, Beverly, but if your roses have blackspot, the problem is going to get worse without intervention on your part. This article from Michigan State's extension service has photos for you to compare with and suggestions for dealing with the problem:

Yes Doug, that is exactely what I have going on here, we went and got some Bayer Complete for Roses yesterday and I treated them all last night. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed, do you think I should cut them all back this fall? All 10 of my roses have it, the yellow and lavender being the worst. Thanks for the info Doug!

I would not cut them back until spring. Make sure you clean up all the foliage around your plants in the fall and dispose of it, do not put it in the compost pile.

Thank you guys, I didn't realize I had to reapply the Bayer. It seems to be helping already, I can't believe I let this go like this...lol.
