Bedroom Update

Victoria
by Victoria
Guest bedroom is very dark and dated.
Paint, new carpet, and a little love will make a world of difference.
After, brighter and cheerier.
Second guest room. So sad.
After. So much brighter and welcoming.

How is the shelf/cornice attached to the wall? Also, how did you attach the curtain/drapes and the short lace ruffle? I have used same concept but w/out the ruffle.

The cornice is actually a shelf hung high and I used a small corbel in the middle attached to the shelf and the wall. I cut a plywood piece to fit inside the cornice and covered one side in fabric, which you will see when you look up into the cornice. I stapled the fabric and lace to the other side of the plywood. I then pushed the plywood up into the cornice and screwed it to the cornice from above so that no screws showed from beneath.I hope this makes sense. :)
