Newborn Friendly Master Bedroom

We rushed and rushed to finish the nursery before our son was born, and I wish that we hadn't. For the first three months he needed to be close to us, so we had to rework our master bedroom to make the new situation work for everyone. I hope you find some inspiration from our solution.
A place to sit right next to the crib was so important for me. Also it was great to have a resting spot to keep an eye on our little since our bed was on the other side of the room.
My desk was previously where the crib wound up, and I actually like it better after having to move it. Funny how that happens.

I have 5 kids and none of them were in their own rooms until approx 6 mos. If I had to get up every 3-4 hrs during the night for feedings,I'd rather have the distance shorter,I was already feeling like a zombie- why walk further? I also felt better being able to see the babies when they wer newborns.
