My husband and I bought the ultimate fixer and spent the last two months working on making it our forever home. One of the last projects was the laundry room. I want to thank all the DIYers on Hometalk that posted some great inspiration for making this room the one we stop and stare at constantly!
Before - Super Drab !
Once we picked out the tile for the living areas of the house we decided to flow it right into the laundry room. It's not a big space but we needed something so I would WANT to go in here and do laundry!!
We started by putting up the wood wall. These planks were inexpensive at Lowe's (editor's note:link is for Amazon), about $25 per box. It took about 2 1/2 boxes to do the wall (Hubby was being very picky about the boards we choose.) He marked where the studs were and used a brad nailer to adhere them to the wall.
My hubby framed in the water line box and then I did some shopping! Found the large safety pins on Amazon (http://amzn.to/2x8BLsk) $27. I downloaded the pictures of the laundry "Wash Dry Fold and Iron" and decoupaged them to a few wood planks we had left over. I got a glass jar at Michaels for $6 and put stenciled letters "Washer Pods". The letters I got at Hobby Lobby on sale for $1.49 each.
We also sanded down the cabinet and painted them a dark grey that complimented the faux wood tile flooring. We removed the wood board on the right side to create more storage. I also got a few additional items at Hobby Lobby for decoration.

We finished off the opening on the far right size with a thin curtain rod and a black and white plaid curtain. I had an old tablecloth that I accidentally shrunk so I cut and sewed it up to fit the space. Behind the curtain we put the dog food bucket and trash can. We had to put the water machine back in here for now but it gives me an excuse other than laundry to go and admire our work.

PS.. the hardest thing about this project was the wall that is why I gave it a "medium" difficulty, but once you lay out a pattern it goes fast!

Thank you I added a few more much needed items. I got a hanging rack that comes down off the wall for item that don't go in the dryer. I also on the hunt for old wood hangers.
