Headboard Bench

When a customer wanted a bench for a wedding I knew it was time to part with this headboard that I had been hoarding, ahem, I mean saving for a special occasion. They plan on having their guests write wishes for them on it for a keepsake of their special day, isn't that fun?
I stripped off what was left of the paint on the headboard. Some of the paint was ingrained in the wood so I used a very watered down cream colored paint on the rest of the bench.
The headboard had tall posts that I cut down. I will use the posts for another project.
Simple construction--I made a rectangle for the seat apron, added some 3x3 legs and 2 reclaimed boards for the seat.
This is almost five feet wide, perfect for the bride and groom!
The stripping and whitewashing gave the wood a pickled look.
I hope the new couple is blessed by their bench and all of the wishes from their guests.
