Union Jack Flag Sign & How I Made It Look Well-Aged!

While my son was gone at summer camp, I decided to surprise him by making him a Union Jack flag sign. It seemed like such an easy project, but I made some mistakes along the way. I'm sharing them, so others don't make the same mistakes I made!
I started off with an old board, which I painted with homemade chalk paint. I used a special ingredient to give the paint a crackled, aged look (paint recipe + special ingredient at the blog link).
Once that was dry, I began taping off the areas that would be painted white and blue.
That crackled paint made the finished sign look authentically aged and I used another special ingredient to accent those cracks!
The sign turned out even better than I'd hoped and my son loves it!
