Jane, your garden is spectacular! What's your secret? -
Thanks Penny and Miriam--the lilies were 25 cents apiece at WalMart about 5 years ago. They were miserable the first 2 years, but have really settled in. The secret is water. Lots of it all summer long. I feel very peaceful when I grab my 30 minute watering session each evening :-) -
my neighvor has gave me one its in a pot for now as im not sure how to care or where to put ..do the need full sun how deep to plant -
30 minute watering session?! Wow. No wonder they look so loved. :) -
Tee hee, Miriam, Indiana summers are DRY! Penny, get it in the ground ASAP. If it is an older one, it should be very happy. Mine were young and the rabbits ate them for a few years. They like to be planted relatively shallow and just want a lot of water in the first season. After that, baring the rabbits, they should come back strong and happy! Oh, and my red hot pokers were grown from seed. Super easy to grow! -
Jane, do you have to dig your Calla up in the fall? Your gardens are just gorgeous!! -
What beautiful gardens you have created, Jane. I've never lived anywhere I could grow kniphofia, so I am envious. -
A very well organized riot of color! Brings joy to the heart. -
LOVE THE BURST OF COLORS IN THESE PHOTOS. VERY NICELY DONE, HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY, DEBRA -
Jane P, your yard is beautiful & you should be very proud. It is a lot of work but the payback is wonderful. I see Smudge loves it, too. -
Jane you yard and cat are priceless... wish I had your green thumb... thanks for sharing... -
I enjoyed looking in on your garden! Good for you! And what a lucky kitty!
