as a former carpet sales person, probably not successfully.. since most carpet is made of a synthetic yarn the only thing I know of that would soak into the carpet is hair dye=voice of experience- since my own granddaughter and a cousin were dyeing their hair on my dining room and spilled the dye and guess what- I have streaks of dark brown carpet in my beautiful forest green shag.. and it doesnt come out.. can you imagine what this does to your hair?? any way I would suggest it would be much cheaper to buy new carpet...

Does the carpet have a long or short pile? I've seen lots of posts and pins where people have painted/stencilled their rugs, usually with chalk paint, but obviously this would only work with a short pile carpet. Although I'm not as enthusiastic as some of the Annie Sloan fans, I will say it does stick to pretty much anything and as long as you give it time to 'cure' it stays stuck! People have also had some success with adding fabric medium to latex paint. Hope this helps :-)
