19 of My Favorite Cleaning Products – Tried and True

Easy
If you need an easier way to get cleaning done, you must check out my tried and true cleaning products.
OK, so I’ve established myself as a clean-freak in this post, now I thought I would introduce you to my top cleaning products of all time. I’ve had a lifetime of cleaning and testing various products to know the ropes. These are my staple cleaning products that I come back to time and time again. At times, I do test other cleaning products but always manage to stick by my tried and true list. I do have a few that I’ve enlisted as per the past two years or so, and now they are a permanent part of my cleaning tribe.

Nineteen you are saying? Really? That many? Well, yes. Don’t be judgy please. Once you see the list, you will hopefully understand better as to why so many. I have a sound reason for each of the these products I use. Also worth mentioning, I’ve tried the “natural” and “organic” cleaners out there, and honestly, they are all horrid and a waste of money. Mind you, this is just my opinion as per my experience with them. I am always careful not to waste any of my cleaning products, and use coupons each and every time I buy them. OK so on with this list…

Please visit my blog to get the scoop on all 19!
1 – Fantastik all Purpose Cleaner- Fantastik has been a staple cleaning product in my arsenal for years. I use it for most everything and everywhere. Bathrooms, kitchen, walls, floors, just about everywhere. It’s antibacterial as well which I adore in a cleaner. I know, I’ve read all the hype about using antibacterial products and how they essentially kill off the good bacteria as well – sorry – I like killing germs…..so it stays! It’s great for bathrooms – bowls, counter-tops (yes, I use it on my granite tops too in kitchen and bathroom). It doesn’t leave streaks, it leaves a nice shine and clean feeling to everything it touches! I love how it cleans my stove wow. Grease doesn’t stand a chance!
2 – Windex – OK who doesn’t use Windex raise your hand. Everyone – good. I’ve tried generic brands like Glass Plus, and nope – just not as good. Ya think you are saving a few cents when all you are saving is nothing. These generics are just not as good – for me anyway. I find most of them to be inferior products.

Please visit my blog to get the entire list! Thanks so much.

I have a considerable amount of clean freak in me so most of the time I enjoy cleaning and get a rush when I find a cleaning product that works really well. Definitely two thumbs up for Comet (been using it for 41 years of married life and my mom used it when I was growing up) and Mr. Clean Magic Sponges. Those things are great but I think the generic Walmart brand work just as well (I honestly can not tell a difference)...plus, they are less expensive. (Hey, I'm a frugal clean freak.) Now, I have to say I've never quite understood the appeal of the Swiffer Wetjet. Besides pushing around dirt (unless you frequently change the pad), the cost of the solution and pads really add up over time. That's not how I want to spend my money. If you really want squeaky C-L-E-A-N floors, you should try the Bissell Powerfresh 1940 steam mop. That thing is AWESOME (yes, I'm shouting it from the rooftops)!!! That thing has changed my life and never again will I mop floors any other way. It cleans without chemicals--just uses water which is converted to steam and the 2 microfiber pads that come with it are reusable/washable, which reduces waste. I just throw them in my washer with a load of towels, a scoop of my (economical) homemade powdered laundry detergent and a scoop or two of Oxyclean, air dry them and they're ready to go again. Right now this mop is selling for the lowest price I have ever seen it on Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-Powerfresh-Steam-White-1940/dp/B0091YYUAM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1393908490&sr=8-2&keywords=bissell+powerfresh ) and the Walmart website has it for the same price. I challenge anyone to mop their floors using their usual mop and then mop again with the Bissell Powerfresh steam mop and see how much dirt comes off your *clean* floors. I'll be willing to bet you will be as shocked and horrified as I was the first time I used it. BTW, I'm not connected to Bissell and don't get any compensation for pushing their steam mop. It just makes me want to sing and dance while mopping. :)

Hi Shari - thanks so much for the informative comment! I really appreciate the info. I will have to try the Walmart version for sure. I do have a steam cleaner for the floors as well , and I do love using it. I guess for everyday cleanup I really like the Wetjet, and yes, I do change the pads a lot, and it is expensive. I tried bleaching my pads for steamer and for some reason, I can't get them "white" like they were which frustrates me, but I do adore the steamer it's amazing! It's funny how you know of that "rush" when finding new cleaning products lol. It's a blast isn't it? thanks again so much for the info. I have a few clean freak friends to pass it along to as well!
