Concealing an Ugly Thermostat #Entryway

We have an old dial thermostat that was a musty gold and was placed right at the front entrance of our house. With a little bit of gray craft paint and an old frame, I worked it into the decor and now it blends so so much better.
I used craft paint and a small art brush (from a dollar store pack) to paint the thermostat gray- this doesn't effect the way it measures the temperature or anything. Then I decorated around it.

Next, I placed 2 small circular mirrors above the thermostat and used an empty white frame around it, spaced against the large art. The frame is adhered to the wall with Velcro instead of a nail so I could be a bit more accurate with its' placement.
We actually don't use our front entrance, so this area is just some free real estate for storage and a nice vignette (and, um, the litter box).
From the living room it looks like it's just part of the arrangement and blends in really well--- as opposed to the non-matching gold that it was before.
