How to clean build up on a shower hread

Adrianne C on Aug 13, 2014There are several effective products that will remove build up, CLR, Lime Away, The Works. I unscrew the shower head and put it in a bowl and cover it with one of these products. I also use a TFE paste, (teflon) around the threads so it won't leak after I put it back on.Helpful Reply

Jennifer Rogers on Aug 13, 2014the best way & probably the cheapest way is to fill a bag with vinegar& tape it on the shower head let it remain soaking over night . And the best part is your not dealing with harsh chemicalsHelpful Reply

Cori Warner on Aug 14, 2014I use the CLR, in a plastic bag around the shower head. It will break down minerals better than the vinegar. Also, you can soak the screens in your faucet the same way to improve water pressure at the faucet, tooHelpful Reply

Adrianne C on Aug 14, 2014There's usually a screen inside the shower head where it attaches to the pipe coming out of the wall. That sometimes gets clogged up. Remember, righty tighty, lefty lucy!Helpful Reply
