Upcycling the Ugly Old Window

Easy
I think we all have found or have hiding an ugly old window. We search Pinterest and Hometalk for ideas to do something with them and a year or two later (as in my case) I finally decided to drag it out from under the deck...
but only after my hubby goes searching for material for another project we are doing and finds this window hiding in the shadows...
he says "why are you keeping this broken ugly window?"
I say "I am going to make something with it?"
"When?" "Soon"
He teasingly says "soon" and I know what this means...
I better do it soon!
It just so happens that the project we are finishing up left me with this blank 'wall' so I I needed something for it. I scrounged around my sewing/craft room and found these metal signs I had.
Then I had my aha moment.
Since this window was missing a glass pane, I needed something to fill in the space. I had some leaf impression stencils in a box that I forgot I even had so I just dabbed them with paint and pressed on the acrylic colors. I Had the flower cut out stencil and I free handed the writing. I know this was a good project because my 16 year old came in the craft room as I was painting and said "cool mom".
Another use for an old window. No more excuses for letting it sit around-get to creating!

Whatcha think?
couple pieces of wire & drill and drill bit
In order to get it to hang right and down I used the metal sign as my template for the holes that way i know the holes are where they need to be
This is the window I had carried back from a trip to GA to visit my BFF
