Evasive weed

Can anyone tell me what this weed is? It has been growing in my gravel walkways but is starting to get into the flower beds now. I am constantly digging them up.

I think it's a type of Spurge. I get them occasionally...they grow fast but are short-rooted so quite easy to pull out.

Yes, I think it is spotted spurge (Euphorbia maculata).

I don't know what it is, but it has the sweetest little flowers! Tiny!

I have this too. It is a spurge. Starts little like a half dollar and grows to dinner plate seems like overnight. It spreads like crazy, but easy to pull after a rainstorm gets it wet. Don't let flowers seed!

I have this too, everywhere. It seems like the "weed of the year" for me in 2014.

Its a horrible weed. Kill it while you can. It will spread.

Thank you for the information! I will keep pulling it - thankfully it does have shallow roots - but I'd rather not have to deal with it at all!

the best way to get rid of it is to pull it before it flowers, then put down a good pre-emergent this fall and again in the spring

Yes its spurge,,,common here in the NW....its a nighmare to get rid of.. everytime you see a new leaf pull it out.... the roots are white and spread just like the plant underground..I have battled it for years.. if you miss picking it out for a few weeks it comes back everywhere.... ours started after a load of topsoil.... was delivered....oh yes,, horsetail too...

don't worry about invasive/evasive :-). I'm sure everyone knew what you meant. Yep, it is spotted spurge. If you have a place where nothing else grows, this is the plant to put there. It is almost impossible to control.
