Antique Steamer Trunk Turned Coffee Table

I love coffee tables that are made out of something unique and when I saw this trunk I knew it would make the perfect one!
My parents picked it up for me at an antique show for $10 and we turned it into this:
The bottom inside was coated with paper that was pretty loose and falling apart at this point. We used a wire brush to scrape it all out before spraying the entire outside and inside with a hose.
I used some Coconut Oil to freshen up the wood paneling.
My brother had some scraps of Pine wood laying around that he glued together for me to make the perfect top. I stained them and sealed it up with some poly.
Since we were using it as a coffee table and the top would be closed, I decided to just give the inside a fresh coat of paint and not do anything crazy.
We attached the top by using four little square pieces of wood that I glued onto each corner. Once dry, we put some glue on top of each square and placed the top on, weighing it down with an old tire overnight while it dried.
