Galvanized Counter Tops

I was on a mission to find some inexpensive countertop options and had recently become obsessed with galvanized metal. I absolutely love to use things that might not be typical and I just knew that galvanized counter areas would look great in our home. My husband wasn't so sure. Tried to dissuade me by saying that it would be "WAY too expensive". Wrong. I happened to be at a clients home when I spotted his fish cleaning station (it's an Oregon Coast thing) and asked him a million questions. I went home that night, armed with facts and argued my way into these beauties...
Old dresser finished with a galvanized top.
This old dresser that we got off of Freecycle.org looks great decked out in her new top. And cleanup is a total breeze.
Retro edging to finish it all off.
We found this countertop edging at our local hardware to finish the edges. I love how it gives it that retro feel.
Work surface in the mud room.
I was so happy with the way that the old dresser turned out that I had my husband build a long work area in the mud room and we covered that as well. This sturdy surface was inexpensive, not hard to install and cleans up great after my messy projects.
More of the nice retro edging to match.
Easy, inexpensive and beautiful. My kind of project!

Oh thank you Chris! We went to our local sheet metal shop. They do heating vents and what not. We just measured our piece and they cut it for us. It rolls up so it's easy to transport without a truck.
