I reclaimed 100 year old barn wood to build the frame for this rustic hutch, but used new, pine, bead board for the back. I faux finished the pine using a combination of materials including: paint and both pickling stain and wood tone stain to achieve the look of aged and weathered wood. We own our own saw mill and I just love cutting the boards and aging them...I have so many projects in my head that I can't even begin to create right at the moment!! My theory is, "old is awesome!" Beautiful, beautiful work!!!
