    Thistle, I know a lot of people recommend the dish soap route, but it really is better to use an insecticidal soap that has been formulated for plants. Regular dish soap can strip leaves of oils that are a natural defense mechanism. Also, just a good blast of water is often enough to take care of the problem.

    I don't understand why you said your topiary lasted for 2 months using this method. I've had mine for years and I don't use soap. Did it die off?
