Chalk Painted Kitchen Cabinets

We used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to customize the look of our builder grade cabinets.
This is the Super Pantry (no cape!) We used Country Grey and Old White ASCP.
ASCP in Old White with Clear Wax and distressing.
Lower cabinets in Country Grey
Kitchen door in ASCP Graphite with clear wax.
We replaced our laundry room door for a screen door and painted it using ASCP in Old White.
This is the open shelving we added to the upper corner of our kitchen.
The surround we built for the fridge.
We used ASCP in Old Grey for the lower cabinets and Pure white for the upper cabinets.
This is our laundry room which is connected to the kitchen and very visible. We styled the kitchen to match the laundry room.
The hardware is Martha Stewart from Home Depot.
Granite countertops were kept from the original kitchen design.
Our kitchen eat in area and adjoining laundry room.
The view of our kitchen from the living room.
The stove and microwave with new upper cabinets we built.

I love it when painting with the chalk paint does it go right on the shiny varnished old cabinets ? and does it become shiny after using the topcoat?
