Suggestions for making this outdoor furniture

I am wondering if marine paint is what I need to make this indoor furniture work outside on the porch. If so, do you have suggestions for color schemes and will I just need to sand it and then prime and paint?
Replaced the ugly worn black wicker chair with the wooden rocker, but I need to paint and seal it or do something to it to protect it from the elements. Would I need to paint the other items to make the porch look better and blend in? I'm thinking a rug might tie it all together also.
Here is a close up picture of the rocker. It won't be on this porch, though. It will be where it is placed in the other pictures. Thanks so much for suggestions.

I posted a question about water proofing a cushion - someone posted about that spray (i believe its the rustolium never wet) I wonder if that would work as a top coat?

You will need to make new cushions, using outdoor fabric and cushion filler made for outdoor furniture. You can get the cushion filler at JoAnn's or online through Amazon here.
