Done in conjunction with the Kitchen Remodel posted earlier. These areas are in the same room and is where we hang out 99% of the time and 100% DIY.
80s Southwest Style had to Go!
Flooring Gone
Ceiling and Fireplace Stripped
Hubby made the new fireplace surroung/mantle out of MDF.
Sound insulation done. Our 20 pound dog sounded like an elephant running when he was upstairs
Drywall Repairs Complete and Video/Audio Wiring Complete
Fireplace converted to Firetubes for a more modern look
More wiring for Audio Control
First Tile Row locations layed out. Don't skip doing this to assure the best results.

Venetian Plaster complete and Crown Moulding started.
Venetian Plaster on Fireplace surround to make it look like Carerra marble. Success or not?
Venetian Plaster Decorative Treatment on Back of Kitchen Island Wall, facing the family room.
Curtain panels span the entire wall of the family room and kitchen.
The finished product. Everything done by us, including the artwork.
