Beachy Chest

I received a pretty beat up waterfall chest from a co-worker who no longer had the room to store it. It had been used for years in a bedroom as a blanket storage piece. My husband wanted to make it have a beachy look. He used General Finishes white wash stain and gray paint to dress it up a bit. This is going to a special family member who just purchased a home at the beach. They have a ton of blankets in their great room, and we thought this would be a perfect storage piece for them.
A few rounds of paint and sanding later when then added polyurethane to it.

We of course did not touch in the inside cedar at all. It is beautiful and in perfect condition unlike the outside.
