Would like to identify this tree/shrub

Could anyone identify this tree/shrub? The flowers are very fragrant, it has fern like foliage, seed pods resemble flat snow peas in size and shape. I live in zone 9, and it seems to be doing very well here. Thanks so much

It is called the 'Desert Bird of Paradise' or the botanical name is Caesalpinia gilliesii. It is a perennial that is deciduous. It blooms in the spring and fall and will get about 8' tall and 6' wide.
