So what is this Green Cover? It BLEW off, (never did that before!) in last nights thunder/hail storms.

Question is what is the black pipe lead to and can water get down it and into the garage from the crawl space? When we get extremely heavy rains / extreme downpours, (not just heavy rain - no issues), we get water coming into the garage from the crawl space and I am wondering if the water is running down this pipe and into the crawl space???

It just sits back ontop of that black pipe, so what is the black pipe lead too?

it looks like it might be something related to a french drain. Being in a protected corner I find it hard to believe it blew off?

perhaps it got banged by some large hail which "tipped" it off. Is this the same corner you have has trouble with the overflowing gutters?

If this is the corner that floods this may have been put in to drain the water away ...»

somewhere...hopefully not your crawl space. Ideally these should go to daylight...which means the other end of the pipe is open some where were the grade drops away. I have also seen these set up like a mini dry well where the water is stored until it soaks in over time. Being this close to the homes foundation that option should be fix asap.

look around on your property for an exit pipe...then have a helper shout into this hole...it they are connected your should be able to hear them more clearly.

@KMS: yes, same area water floods..... never came off before, so I don't THINK it could have just popped off fromo the rain. (BTW: The water into the garage via the crawl space...... The garage never had water in it before the SPRINKLER guy put in a new zone. his helper didn't seal a hole he made........ just thinking, its POSSIBLE the guy drilled 2 holes into the crawl space??? one has the pipe where he didn;'t seal it after putting in the pipe so teh head guy ...»
came back and did. and I checked that - it looks solid. wondering if he drilled another hole then chose not to use it???? uggghh - what a pain.... only on excessivly large storms and for an extended period of time)
