Removing a bolt

I want to remove rollers on the bottom of a footstool. I have no idea what to use to remove this type of bolt. I don't need to save the bolt I just want them off as I can put small feet.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Your roller looks to be the type you have to loosen a nut off of the top of the bolt to remove. Make sure its not a pop in type roller by giving it a good tug first. If it doesn't budge, then you will have to remove the material on the bottom or cut a whole near the roller to get to the nut. Good luck.

Try working it with a pair of plyers.

There is a (set of three) stripped screw remover kit you can get for about $10. It will remove any stripped screw you may come across that needs to be removed. It is a very handy tool to have on hand.
  • That's not a bolt. That's the head of the mounting part that allows the swivel on the wheel to work. The bolt should be seen from the other side of the footstool. It is either like Donna Byram said a pop in roller, or the nut that holds the roller in is located under the top padding of the stool.

Agree with Woodbridge, that is not a bolt. The mounting screws are most likely on the other side.

What Woodbridge said. You may have to tear the lining fabric.

You shouldn't have to tear the fabric, most likely has staples attaching it.

@That is very true Adrianne. I have no idea why I said "tear" it. I meant remove it. I never tear anything if it's in good shape, and this appears to be in perfect shape, if I can reuse it.
