Before and After: A Boring Wooden Box Gets A Frenchy Makeover

My son was forced to take shop class a couple of years ago and created this simple, plain wooden box. He brought it home and threw it in his closet, where it stayed collecting dust until a few weeks ago.
I was tired with the arrangement of knick knacks on my coffee table and wanted something new. I pulled the old dusty box out of the closet and transformed it into a French Country inspired centerpiece for my coffee table.
I painted the box a soft light blue, distressed it and added a French postcard image to the front and back. I also added two silk flower post I made from some painted terracotta pots, white silk hydrangeas and pink roses.
Paired up with a large Eiffel tower that I painted pink and a chicken wire potpourri holder it is now a great centerpiece for my French Inspired Coffee Table Vignette.
I love it!
