That's one of the nicest raised plant beds I've seen in a while. If anyone would like to know how to make a raised plant bed, for veg or flowers here's a guide for you ... http://hometipster.com/how-to-build-a-raised...
Douglas....I will post a picture of the plants soon... I would say it's probably a little overgrown..lol...there is nothing better than home grown veggies!
I love it my husband made this for me for Mother's Day....I have been telling him to do exactly what you said...I will share this with him...maybe it will encourage him to go forward with his natural talents. Thank you!
Tammy this is just. . . . . . . .I can't find the right words!! I reminds me of a boat - so there!! You have an imaginary floating veggie garden! LOL Your husband did an absolutely beautiful job and I love the faux windows!!!

Susan, I told my husband what you commented and he is now seriously going to look into marketing his plans, not only on this, but the other stuff he has created as well. Since he is out of work right now...this may be a answer to prayers. Thank you so much for the encouragement!
@Tammy - so glad I could somehow be of help!! Tell him to document EVEYTHING. You know that saying, a picture is worth a thousand words?? Visual aids are very benefiical when trying to explain a concept to a potential client!! He should put together a Portfolio of his work and concentrate on creating a Resume highlighting these skills. You don't say what line of work he was in previously, but maybe he should visit some landscaping firms and show them his creations. Ya NEVER know . . . .Best of Luck!!
This is so nice, kind of reminds me of my garden and pond we did out of cherry timbers this past spring, check out my posts.....love this for sure and he should market it, just like I have tried to get my honey to do ours as well, I made the plans myself. Started out by seeing a similiar made out of rock and pavers but wanted a more rustic look and drew it up. Funny, he had the pond part wrong and I ASKED if he would redo it, was not what I drew up....he did and it came out great!!!!!
Sharon thank you! I am going to show my husband this...we have a liner already this would be a great addition to what we have...hmmm ok now to convience him...lol Thank you for sharing!!!!
This is beautiful Sharon.. Hoping to buy a new place soon.. some of your ideas will come in real handy.. I haven't been on this site long.. I am from Nova Scotia but now living in Florida.. . Have a great day!
Oh I would love that, if my husband were alive I could show him this and he would make it for me. My yard is so hard to dig in I try to grow in containers but it's not the same. You enjoy it, think of all the yummy stuff that will come out of your "layered garden".
wonderful, unfortunately( or not) we already have a pond and stream so there is nowhere this design would look right, Our garden as what I call a casual look, but I am trying to create a raised /sunken bed due to the levels we have. comes in handy for beds as I need to sit when gardening.
Good luck to hubby and hope he gets work from it. He should . Could he offer the labour as well as sell the plans.?
I love the idea of raised garden beds...but now that I'm older I can't get down there so well. I have started raised beds that are 24" high but the amount of dirt needed to fill them is unreal!! Anyone know where I could get FREE dirt? I spent $100.00 on my first one for dirt (30tix36x24) and still didn't get it full....now what?
