Bedroom Closet Systems - Walk in Closet Design Makeover

Two bedroom closet systems were used in this walk in closet design. The makeover was a DIY project using a variety of bedroom closet organizers from the big box store and of course some ingenuity.
The closet was a generous size (5' X 8') with the door on one of the 5 foot walls - but not quite centered on that wall so a standard rod and shelf was not possible on each of the 8' walls.
The walk in closet had been in use for 27 years with only the standard rod and shelf design along two walls. It was pretty boring and not very efficient.
The emptied closet - YES, you can paint a popcorn type spray on ceiling but because the textured coating is water soluble so you have to use an oil based paint.
Shelving and drawers were added to the NON hanging wall. The dresser is re-purposed and mounted directly on the wall on top of a closet storage tower placed sideways and used for shoe storage.
Final result. A completely different type of bedroom closet system was used on the short wall, and as you can see in the photo we used corner bedroom closet organizers to gain more storage for linens in the closet.

The final walk in closet design is complete with storage for an iron and an ironing board and we did it all ourselves. It took awhile because all the pre-pack closet organizers had to be assembled and I had to wait for help to get everything mounted but we are really happy with the result.

Check out the website for more step by step and how we got the ironing board in there. This closet stays organized because there is a place for everything and it is not hard to put everything in its place.

Hey Beverly, my clever little FINGS hooks can be used without tools inside closets and cabinets. You know those little holes for shelf pin supports that make shelves adjustable? FINGS fit straight in! Let me know what you think of Bling FINGS as I would appreciate feedback, thanks Georgina.
