How to Display Your Sleek Electronics, Upcycled Style!

I LOVE our sleek, flat screen TV, my fancy Mac computer and my ever so present pretty iPhone. But the idea of a modern TV stand, nor streamlined desk, nor even an iPhone charging station with flashy speakers did NOTHING to excite me, decor wise.
So I did the only thing a junker could possibly do... I junked the works up.
My first rustic revamp was a TV stand made out of a lowly pallet. I even made it 'fancy' by adding a piece of glass and creating a show case to the top. (to hide more junk...)
Then I needed a computer desk. Two sawhorses, a ladder and pallet wood later, I had one sturdy, funky looking desk that I can pretty much guarantee no one else has... as in 2000% guaranteed...
But it didn't stop there. A vintage rolling toolbox got hit with an old sign painted treatment to hide the remote controls. A rusty gear became BFF with the SD cards. And wait till you see where my iPhone landed! And on it goes.
In a nutshell, I pretended the electronics were old relics like the rest of my stuff, hiding what I could, and proudly displaying the rest, in my own way.
The end result is a home I love, with flashy gadgets that blend right in!
How do you skirt around the high tech / not your style thing?
Can you spot a lowly pallet underneath that shiny TV? 2 soda crates to hide movies sealed the deal.
Some think that old cogs or gears belong on machines. I think they're high end office accessories myself! I mean, TRY and create that delicious patina... :)
Remember those tiny little powder room cabinets everyone use to have but got rid of because they were too small? I house my camera accessories in one in the living room. Within a wall gallery of others of course! I mean, they are rather small...
The painted sign spills the beans on what this vintage rolling toolbox is hiding. I'd much rather look at a little vintage happiness instead of a pile of remotes, wouldn't you?
When I needed an office downstairs, a pallet wood desk, a coke crate pen organizer and a vintage ironing board light did the job junkily perfectly. With a guard cat to boot! Those birds are downright dangerous...
