Our old piano didn't come with a bench so we bought a bench at a thrift shop. We shortened the legs to make it fit perfectly at our piano, used an antique grainsack for a new cover on the lid, and painted the legs. It's amazing how cute it is now!
Here is the before - because the after is so much better when you see what it looked like before!
The inside of the bench received a pop of color just for fun.
We used milk paint to paint the legs and the detail shows up so much more now.

Great idea! I love benches. I covered an old sewing machine bench in the fabric of my dining chairs and it set it under a small table at the end of the big table. If we need extra seating, we have it! A couple of benches are great to have around!

I would of left the top on it if it opened so storage could still be utilized and sanded it down then painted and added shelf underneath. Mittens, hats, gloves, dog leashes, car keys etc... Could be stored there so there never lost!!!
