I have tried so many mixtures and steaming, nothing seems to work and the floors still have what looks like a some sort of film, please any suggestions.

Test a small patch first. I cleaned mine with a solution of ammonia and water. Had to tie a scarf around my mouth because of the fumes but it worked for me as I'd tried everything, Previous owners had put polish or something on the floor. Make sure you rinse it well afterward.

When my laminate wood floor was installed, I was told not to use water on them for cleaning and you shouldn't let any liquid pool on the flooring. I was told to use one of the cleaners specifically made for laminate floors. I am currently using Bruce Laminate and Hardwood Cleaner. It's in a spray bottle and I just use a damp terry cloth applicator to clean. It was a difficult concept for me because I use soap and water, etc. on other floors in my house...but I've gotten use to it.

When we had our laminate floor installed they gave me Mohawk Floorcare Essentials to use, I love this stuff. It cleans and shines without a film and it is kid and pet safe plus it smells nice. I ran out and thought I would try the Bona system, left a nasty film then tried the ammonia water but it's still not as good as the Mohawk. No I'm not being paid by the company lol I made a major investment with these floors and I want to make sure they last me for a long time to come!

Mohawk product and microfiber dry mop work best. Light spray then wipe up with the microfiber mop. (Let it totally dry before walking on it!)

Just a quick question laminate and wood don't go together do they? Either you have laminate flooring or you have wood flooring. This throws me !! Laminate is not wood and as V Valencia (Aug. 24th) comment: use specific cleaner made for laminate floors. I'm a little late on the conversation. There are three basic types in this category - wood, engineering wood and laminate flooring. Wood is all wood, engineering is this layer of wood compressed to look like laminate but is still wood and to be treated as wood. Then there is laminate not wood ! Looks like wood but not wood. its harder, stronger, lasts longer, less upkeep but once damaged (hard to do) you can not fix it, must be replaced. right or wrong ? let me know. Have researched and gone with laminate !
