Help identifying this plant

Question

I need help identifying this plant. It is the first year it has shown up and I noticed it about June or July. Unfortunately, it died because of a mole invasion. I live in Ohio.

mine do, it looks like my hosta's does it have purple flowers on a long stem? Mine are purple but I don't know what colors they come in.

Thanks for the answers, but I'm still hoping for more ideas. I'm pretty sure it isn't a hosta. We have those but not close to this bed.
And I know it isn't Lily of the valley, I have those elsewhere. It never got a chance to bloom because Mole killed it. Judith from Georgia was correct about the twisting of the leaves. SOMEBODY must know. Thanks to you who tried...

It looks a bit like the foliage of my Naked Lady, also called Pink Lady. The foliage comes up in the spring, dies out completely in a few months, then in Aug or Sept, a pink flower comes up on a thick stem. No foliage, hence, 'naked.' Maybe you'll get a pink flower...

My vote is for lilly of the valley...it is the same color and form, just minus the flowers.

Looks like what we call 'corn' plant...is more tropical.. Gets tall stalk...small ones often used by florists in planter arrangements/dish gardens.

After it did flower the next year, I remembered it was something I had gotten at our family plant swap. Still don't know it's name, but it is short version of the naked lily Thanks to all that answered.
