Kitchen Backsplash- it's not tile it's a DECAL!

We do our best to make home improvements on a budget. Sprucing up the kitchen was on our list, but adding a tile backsplash was not within our reach. I give you our vinyl decal backsplash! It took 3 hours to put up, and it tricks many people, even trained professionals! It's affordable, durable and good looking! Check out my blog post for decal source, instructions and some more amazing photos!

That looks like what I need. I have ugly bathroom tile in my kitchen, been dreading the idea of tearing down I could just stick that over top of it.

I sent this to my friend..she is gaga over this idea.

So, about the flammable idea, how is it any more flammable than sheetrock? What would make it catch on fire more than sheetrock? Are there warnings on the product to not use on back splashes? Is this like contact paper?

Hi! Bernice, we have had the backsplash up for over a year now with zero problems. We cook with gas and there hasn't been any close calls:) Perhaps it's more flammable if you hold a match to it, but honestly our whole house is filled with things that would could down in flames if we had a big fire. The backsplash is more like vinyl, heavy duty. It wipes up really easy and looks just as great as the day we put it up!

Just went to their site, and yours also..I love the light green mosaics! I love your kitchen arrangement also, as I posted on your site, stove and sink within eyesight of each other. My friend is excited about this also, and her kitchen is just about the same colors as yours. Amazing, same-ish cabinets etc! So she gets to see how it would look when done! Thanks for directing us all to this!

Totally awesome. I went to thewebsite and spent overan hour there just looking at all the cool decals. I think that this idea will make it into our kitchen make over I wasn't looking forward to learning how to grout. Thanks so much for posting. I have samples coming. :0)

I need to make backsplashes for two sink vanities and this looks a lot easier than regular tile. Thanks for the great idea.

this looks great ! did you use the matte or gloss finish? and temp or permanent type? I would like to try it which would you suggest?

I used glossy because I wanted to make sure it was easy to wipe clean. I used permanent because I figured it would stay put until I replaced it with some other back splash...ceramic tile, bead board, tin...Ours has been up nearly two years now and it is as wonderful as the day we put it up.
