How to Stencil DIY Wall Art and Stencil Giveaway

Just because you're a renter doesn't mean you need to toss your decorating dreams aside but you may have to adjust them. If you've been lusting after a wall pattern but stenciled walls are not in your renter's agreement then Cutting Edge Stencils, has the perfect solution for you! We'd love for you to consider painting your own custom wall art using wall stencils.
Jess, the decor enthusiast behind the blog Domicile 37, decided to create wall art and we've got the project deets and a stencil giveaway!
First she grabbed a left over piece of hardboard and painted it using Valspar White Enamel. Once the paint was dry, she was ready to stencil. Jess fell in love with the Charlotte Allover Stencil, a lace-inspired wall pattern.
Jess used blue painter's tape to hold the stencil in place and stencil brush to paint the pattern.
She said, "I love gold as an accent color, so I did this step using Martha Stewart craft paint in yellow gold and Valspar Du Jour paint with a satin finish."
After the stencil was dry, Jess chose to add some dimension to her project using gold leaf. She taped the stencil over the painted design. Then she applied modge podge over the stencil and pressed gold leaf onto the modge podge. A coat of modge podge was applied over the gold leaf to seal it and keep it from peeling off.
Jess placed her work of art in a frame. She commented, "Voila...instant, beautiful, homemade art with the help of Cutting Edge Stencils. "
