Tall Perennials in My Garden

Tall, bright and handsome! I love to see these "upstanding" plants blooming above the others in the garden. Take a look at some of the tall perennials that grace my secret garden. (Some that I did not show are the shasta daisies, the black-eyed susans and the beautiful irises which I have highlighted in my other posts.) Enjoy!
I call this tall hibiscus my "asterisk" hibiscus because the petals remind me of that symbol :) So unusual! This is one of 3 different varieties in my garden- it's the tallest, grows to about 5-6 ft high
This beautiful asiatic lilly blooms early in the season, I wish they lasted longer- so pretty!
The orange day lilies that live along my fence grow to about 5 ft tall and unfortunately do not last long!
I love when this star flower finally blooms- it grows to about 7 ft tall and then when the tiny flowers appear, they cascade down- really does look like a night sky full of stars!
One of the hostas in the shade garden. I can't believe how tall the blooms are- the largest ones are about 3-4 ft tall!
This was a new one that I planted this year- crocosmia- it's about 3 ft tall and has beautiful bright red flowers and tall spiky stems
The maltese cross grows to about 3-4 ft tall and has really spread this year.
The obedient plant gave pretty light purple flowers- grew to about 3 1/2 ft tall
White and pink coneflowers supported by a peacock trellis- the pink ones are about five feet tall and the white ones are a little shorter. And they smell so nice!
The butterflies have nice high landing pads on the cone flowers!

You have cone flowers 5 feet high? That is impressive! If you really want to add some height to your garden (which I highly recommend) plant some Helianthus "Lemon Queen," which will get up to 8 feet.

Yes, I was surprised how tall they grew! I checked out the helianthus images online- very pretty, thanks for the suggestion.
