How to remove rust on carpet

Last winter, I placed a shovel which was still wet on my carpeting and have a line of rust from the shovel's edge on my gold carpeting. I tried to trim it some to eliminate it, but it is still there. Any ideas on what might remove the rust? Thanks

When I have rust stains, I always pull out my bottle of Whink Rust Remover. It works instantly but test a small section first. I buy it at the grocery store.

I would try using AWE a product you can buy at the $stores or food stores. Try a little on a spot to see if it will change the color (probably not) or use a spray bottle with 1Tbl liquid dawn + 1 cup Hydrogen peroxide +1/2 cup water, shake and spray. Hope this helps.

I found out the hard way that anything with bleach will set a rust stain. However, lemon juice (and sunlight) takes them out. I've used this on tablecloths, etc. and it worked. However, I've never used it on carpet.
