Latex wall paint

I have almost a full gallon of white latex paint that has been stored for about a year or maybe two years. I opened it today to paint my kitchen walls. It was a little thick but after I stirred it up it seemed fine, just a little thick as I said. Now that the walls are painted I am getting a very strong odor. Could this paint be bad and if so what can I do now about the odor.

  • Most paints are low VOC (odor) but when they sit for a while they can develop an odor. I say run some fans and get the air circulating and if it is not too hot I would open the windows butnot if it is humid which will make it smell even worse. The smell should/will subside within a few hours if not a day. Good luck.
