My yellow roses do not have enough flowers. What should I put on them so they bloom? I'm in Michigan.

I think @The Garden Frog with C Renee or @Douglas Hunt should be able to help! :)

Epsom salts is great for roses!!
  • There a few things to consider when any flower fails to bloom-lack of sunlight, improper pruning, soil issues, idisease/pests, or did you just plant them? Can you give more info-1) how long have the plants been in the location; 2) do they get at least 8 hours of sun? 3) did you prune them and when those are questions off the top of head. I will await your reply

They get enough & pruning < we planted them this spring full sun. I'm trying Epson salt. I put that on 2 months ago & they we're better. Thank You all for the help!
    • @Cjs618 you planted this spring-the rule of thumb for plantings are 1st year sleeps, 2nd year creeps, and 3rd year leaps. Make sure to cover the base with more mulch to protect them this winter. good luck!

I think you definitely need to give them more time to settle in. Epson salt will boost the magnesium in the soil, but it is not a complete fertilizer. Use a good slow-release fertilizer formulated for roses, like Rose Tone.

Banana peels, lots and lots of them. Roses thrive on them.
